A Christmas to Remember...or Forget?!

After Daddy's work on the 23rd, we headed to Texas in the Land Rover. 45 minutes into the trip (when we hit Beatrice), I vomited. Mommy and Daddy didn't think too much of it and continued on with jingle bells. I took a quick nap and then managed to stay up the rest of the road trip, not very content might I add; let's just say the guests at the Holiday Inn in Oklahoma won't forget me! Christmas Eve morning was our final leg into Texas. We arrived in time to visit Pappy and G for a spell and then headed to celebrate with Nana and the Henderson gang. I slept the first hour of the party and then woke with...not my best attitude. Mommy and Daddy had to leave early to put me to bed, all the while attributing my behavior to lack of sleep. Christmas morning brought gifts, Pappy's games and a runny nose. By evening, I was out of sorts and the night was a nightmare! I vomited, coughed, snotted and sneezed my way through the next several days. Everyone was exhausted (including me)! After loads of laundry and invading Pappy and G's space we ventured to Glen Rose where Poppy and Gammie hosted Christmas. Still under the weather and now with Reese acting a bit unusual (yet still her smiling sweet self), we opened presents, ate, played outside in the sunshine and did some fishing. I left a few lasting impressions there and tore through several boxes of kleenex. Mommy and Daddy changed their mind about coming home 4-5 times in procrastination of traveling with me. After 24 hours of antibiotics in my system, they braved the drive. I screamed several hours until they finally gave me some sleepy medicine. After 13 hours in the car, arriving in Nebraska at 2 AM on New Years Day never felt so good! I'm slowly recovering but probably won't be invited back to Texas anytime soon (nor will Daddy after another Texas speeding ticket). Where was Reese in all this? Quiet and sweet but managed to pick up an ear infection in both ears, a cough and the runny nose. I'm sharing my bubble gum medicine with her so we can both recover for a great start to 2012! Mommy and Daddy are hoping this year brings more sleep???
