Birthday Candles

Happy Birthday Aunt Rebecca! We had a fun gathering of family at my house to celebrate. Other than my adorable sound effects, grins and eye expressions, one of the highlights was the birthday candles melting into the warm apple dessert. The birthday girl cleaned up on gifts related to her love for photography; I extend a giant thanks for so many of the wonderful pictures of me which I am able to display on the blog. I have such talented aunts!

Birthday Party

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite angels, my Grandma Mary. We gathered with Grandpa and Gigi, Aunt B and Gene-O for cake and balloons. Grandpa held me in his lap and told me a funny story about his Grandpa Erazim (my great-great grandfather-GGGF). He recounted a time when he and Gigi left little baby Mary under Grandpa Erazim's watch while they "slipped away". Once they returned they discovered little Mary had a messy diaper (we call those "poopzasters" at our house) and Grandpa Erazim wasn't quite sure how to handle the challenge; he made the best of the situation by wrapping Mary in a tea towel and was never happier to see them when they arrived. My Grandpa Erazim promises to share more GGGF stories so I have more history to my name.

Bye Bye Balloons

We all wrote notes to Grandma Mary on our balloons and sent them sailing off to heaven.

Current Stats

I had my 4 month check up today with my pediatrician, Dr. Brent Willman. Here's the latest:
  • My corrected age is 1 month, 2 days (based on my original due date)
  • Weight: 11 lbs 7 oz (1 month/adjusted scale: 75%; 4 month scale: less than 3%
  • Height: 21 1/4 inches, a gain of 3 1/2 inches since last visit on 7/28/10
  • Head Circumference: 15 inches (1 month/adjusted scale: 75%; 4 month scale: 50%)
  • I enjoy tummy time and am able to raise my head and chest off the ground.
  • I enjoy staring at objects such as my lady bug, bumble bee, zebra and cow; I am able to track with my eyes to a greater degree and distance.
  • I still love music, the sound of running water, my pacifier and being held.
  • I eat 100cc (just over 3 oz) every 2-3 hours in the daytime and every 3-4 hours at night, giving mommy and daddy a little bit of rest.
  • My smiles and giggles are slow to come as I spend a lot of my awake time communicating by crying; my eyes are very telling of my mood as well.
  • Bath time remains a favorite along with riding in my baby carrier on mommy or daddy's chest.

Are You Ready for Some Football?

I come from a long line of NFL fans, cheerleaders and officials. I was super excited about the kickoff of my first season, watching with daddy, G-Force and Big Eric. I am still undecided as to who I will root for as daddy and Aunt B cheer for the Vikings, G-Force cheers for the Packers and mommy and her family are huge Cowboy fans. Of course, I will catch a few of Poppy's games this season regardless who I decide to cheer for.

...and who knows, someday I may be in the NFL?!?!

Regifted

A giant thank you to my wonderful cousin, Sera, who lives in Colorado. She has been sending me loads and loads of clothes that her sons/my cousins (Jordan and Noah) wore and now are new gifts to me. I've been fashionably outfitted and want to extend my grateful appreciation.

This outfit was gifted to Jordan by Nate's mom when he was born; it is very special that now it is mine.

My First Teacher

Mrs. Sarah is my new teacher; she comes over to show me new things about my world while mommy runs errands and takes care of herself. Of course, we get plenty of snuggle time in as well! As a mommy of 3, Mrs. Sarah has tons of wisdom and love to give. Once mommy returns to work (in Nov) we will continue to discover and have new adventures together!

Go Huskers!

I enjoyed my first Husker football game with my G-Force and Aunt KK.

I also listened to the last part of the women's volleyball game; Aunt KK is a huge fan and promises to take me to a game someday. Husker wins for both!
